How Bad Is It Really To Take Vicodin With Alcohol?

Posted by admin on Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

I’m taking vicodin for a popped disk in my back and the vicodin bottle says all over it “do not take with alcohol”. One of my friends say this is really only that bad for old people, i’m 26. I also heard that you can drink a beer or two and get really wasted on vicodin. So i’m thinking to just not drink a lot. Maybe have a couple beers tonight. I’ll bet that 6 beers with vicodin, i’d get horribly trashed.

Or mildly deceased.
Don’t do this.

watch out! addictive combo.

Mixing alcohol and vicodin just intensify the effect of each but as always……… moderation

any pain medication mixed with alcohol can slow your heartrate down considerably and if you are passed out from the meds/drinks you won’t even know what’s happening,
I’m not saying it will, but it can, at any age. If you haven’t eve before watch Dr.G. Medical examiner, she has a case like that…

not bad as long as your not leaving the house dont drink and drive

just enjoy the vicodin…you be back to drinkin in no time…just look at your drunken buddies and realize how much happier you are…hehe…(hope you don’t get the “itchys”)

ive done it and im still around. Just dont over do the Alcs.

very bad you can die if you take too much of either together

just becarful alchol has a stronger affect on narcotics. I smoked a bowl of ………. well ya know once and i had taken 2 vicoden for tongnitis. WEW that was crazy slept good though! have fun but be careful.

They advise not to do them together for a few purposes. One being that it destroys your liver. The acetemetophine in Vicodin puts a strain on your liver and coupled with alcohol your body is having to work overtime to cleanse itself. The second reason is the impaired judgment the combination would produce. Vicodin is strong enough on its own to work as a painkiller, there is no need to combine it with alcohol except in the case of abusing the drug, and the medical industry does everything it can to prohibit that.
I have taken vicodin with alcohol before, and I’m still alive and thriving. But don’t do it on a regular basis unless you feel like completely trashing your liver.

Everyone acts different to mixtures of alcohol and narcotics. These are the effects of alcohol…
diarrhea
· upset stomach
· anaemia(loss of red blood cells)
· red, blotchy, or dried out skin
· increase skin acne problems
· headaches (loss of fluid in the brain)
· decreased perception and coordination
· slowed reflexes and mental processes
· loss of consciousness
· black outs (memory lapses)
LONG TERM EFFECTS
· cirrhosis of the liver
· malnutrition
· cancer of the mouth and throat
· increased stomach acid
· gastritis (inflamation of stomach walls)
· ulcers
· pancreatitis
· increased blood pressure
· weaken muscle fibre
· weakness of bones
· dependence
Not bad compared to the effect of mixing vicodin with alcohol. Hmmm. Lets just say if you wanna take the chance of falling flat on your face dead. DO IT…

My son did this and had 2 seizures within 3 hours of each other. Spent 2 days in the hospital. He is only 15.

It may not effect you right at the moment that you Will notice, but both are hard on the liver and mixed can cause damage that you know nothing about until years down the line when you end up with hepatitis. One of the heps is caused from abuse to the liver, not sex or sharing needles. Do your research. If the bottle says no alcohol, then you need to heed the warning.

I wouldn’t operate heavy machinery on it…and I bet there’s a sticker for that one…however, from experience…um, cause I forgot that I took it….it’s a really wierd (and good) feeling..just be careful and DON’T operated machinery.

2 or 3 beers and 1 pill is’nt bad. just watch out for the cumulative effect from taking it every day. Previous poster is right tho about it being a very addictive practice. Anything that feels that good makes real life seem dull. Easy to get used to the feeling. And pain pills to a lot of people really just makes the pain dull but still there. Therefore you still feel it and want to keep taking pills. Lots of genuinely injured peole get hooked this way.

It would be a really stupid decision to drink with Vicodin…..I have actually heard it of killing people…..it is a deadly mix……if you do then instead of waking up tomorrow trashed you may not wake up at all!
