What Underlying Health Problems Are There Which Causes Ed And The Need For Viagra?

Posted by admin on Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

Here are the facts: 49 year-old man; uncontrolled diabetes for the past ten years; will not take meds; no change of diet. W/in the past year or so, he has needed Viagra (or some other related med.) I understand this must be related to his diabetes, but what exactly is going on in his body which has lead to this?

Diabetes is characterized by excessive sugar in the blood.
Imagine you have a cup of water and you start pouring sugar in it. Eventually you get to the point that the water becomes thicker, right? It gets sticky and syrupy. This same thing happens to your blood with uncontrolled diabetes.
The blood gets so sticky and thick that it cannot circulate through the tiny blood vessels in the tips of your toes and fingers. This is why diabetics often get amputations- they get a sore tht they can’t feel and it doesn’t heal because there is no blood flow to the area… If the diabetes still isn’t controlled, it will only get worse, leading to a loss of circulation in the larger veins and arteries- such as those that give blood to the penis and organs such as the kidneys.
Eventually, if diabetes is allowed to progress, it will cause total kidney failure, blindness, amputations, and eventually death.
And this guys biggest concern is Viagra? Jeez…
