Promethazine?
Have you ever heard of someone abusing the drug Promethazine? I was wondering if it has side effects, as I think someone might have jacked my prescription. I got it for a surgery to help with nausea, and I was wondering why anybody would have a reason for stealing PROMETHAZINE?

It makes you sleepy. Yes, someone could have stolen it for that purpose.
One reason would be for the anti nausea it gives so if you were hungover. Promethazine is sometimes used as a recreational drug in conjunction with codeine in prescription cough syrup. The syrup by itself contains 7% alcohol. The mixture of Sprite and cough syrup with codeine, which is known as “purple drank” or “Sizzurp”, is popularized in the rap world, especially in the Houston area.
Promethazine by itself will just make you sleepy, but as the person above me said, if it is in a cough syrup with codeine, it potentiates it (makes it stronger), and that is a drug that people will abuse.
