Get some medical marijuana, that should take of the nausea.
Nausea is a VERY COMMON side effect with ANY opiate, given by any route (i.v. or i.m. will be the same as oral dosing) You can ask your doctor for anti-emetic (anti-nausea) medication, which may or may not work.
Your other option is to try a different pain medication. Each of us reacts differently to different medications, and you may do better with Dilaudid or Oxycontin, or with something not quite as strong, like Vicodin or Lortab.
Good luck.
Sounds like you have cancer which would be a possible explanation for the nausea
get a different drug that won’t cause this side effect – ask your doctor
eat more. In time your body will adjust
If you have stomach or esophagus cancer you will keep throwing up
It’s very possible that you are allergic to Morphine. I am. I would suggest that if the symptoms persist, that you stop taking it unless you have no other choice
That’s hard to answer because they’re aren’t a whole lot of people who have taken morphine.
I would try some over the counter anti nause medicines, and if that doesn’t work, ask you doctor.
Try empty stomach maybe. Also, your prescribing physician can give you an anti-nausea medication. There is one called Zofran that comes in an oral dissolve form. If that doesn’t work, there are other liquid pain medications that you can try, There is no reason you should suffer with nausea AND pain.
I really hope you aren’t taking the whole bottle. But you may want to ask your doctor about an antiemetic such as phenergan to take 1/2 an hour before you take the medicine. Really I hope you aren’t taking that much morphine a day.
IV Injection is only way to avoid that. That stuff is basically Heroin you realise?
Nausea and vomiting is a side effect of narcotics. The receptors in your brain that opioids bind to are near the area postrema which is the vomiting center. You will build up tolerance to this side effect and it won’t make you nauseous anymore. Hang in there!
