How Would An Overdoses Of Cocaine And Methamphetamine Look Like?

Posted by admin on Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

A person I know died from drug poisoning. He took cocaine and methamphetamine one afternoon, got violently ill later that night (gastrointestinal problems and at least one seizure). The next day he went to his work, feeling much better, but in the afternoon they found him gravelly ill, with bloody froth on his lips. He died shortly after. Could anyone explain to me what chain reaction took place in his body? Thanks!

It sounds like it’s more likely he caused one or more of his organs to fail, probably his liver or kidneys. It’s possible it just took them awhile to reach a point where they wreaked havoc on the rest of his body.
As for the bloody froth… maybe the gastrointestinal problems damaged his digestive track enough to cause bleeding, which eventually came back up.
This is all speculative and sounds pretty spectacular for a meth + coke overdose… I would imagine he would’ve died after the seizure. Overdoses on substances such as those two don’t typically “get better” for half a day, although it’s possible he was merely feeling better from the long-lasting effects of the meth.

drug overdosing could lead to multiple symptoms that lead to death.
It could have been liver failure, stomach bleeding, brain bleeding from the seizure, etc. Especially when there was a mix of drugs and maybe alcohol involved, only an autopsy could tell the truth… cocaine can actually poison you, meth would lead to heart failure. Both are aggressive to the stomach and could lead to internal bleeding.

I wouldn’t say, so much the cocaine was the main issue. meth is the worst. You’re just over-stimulating your body by taking 2 stimulants. There was no chain reaction. You take enough Meth and you can “ice” your lungs. there are too many things that it does to your body, that it was probably just the mere toxicity of Meth which killed him. You stay up for a long time on meth. Your heart can only take so much pressure before it gives out.
Overdosing just means that your body cannot flush it out fast enough for you to stay alive.
I think he died according to the reasons why Meth is so bad for you. Other than that, just don’t mess around with it. I’m sorry about your friend, but people who do that either go off the deep end or don’t get back to normal. It just kills brain cells like no other.
