Methadone?
Okay short story: mom on drugs, mom goes on methadone..mom has baby..baby is going through withdrawls and ends up in NICU on morphine..they took baby off morphine yesterday to see how she does..and now today they put her on methadone, and want to send her home 2morrow? Why would hospitals let a baby go home on methadone with already known drug abusers?? anything else about methadone babies ect info welcome..

If mom is on methadone, she will be closely monitored by the agency that gave it to her. My friends daughter was on methadone with her last and she got to go home with her because methadone is not an illegal drug. The mom has to go to get her methadone and is drug tested constantly. Baby is also monitored closely once they are in the home by CPS, not taken away unless they have reason (ie evidence of illegal drug use, abuse or neglect of baby, etc). She was even allowed to breastfeed (for a month until she had to go back on her lithium).
Children Services should have been called. That baby should not be going home with the mom when it tested positive for drugs and the mom is a known drug user.
Is This your Mom?does Mom have a medical condition? if so i think that’s why baby is allowed to go home with mom.if not the doctors would have involved Child Protective services.So mom must be in everyone’s eyes able to take care of her baby.They will not send a Baby addict home with Mom without Mom having a support system and having state involved or they could get sued………..Mia PS If mom is ill and in pain she must be on prescription pain meds and tried her best by going on the methadone ,she will not be able to breastfeed I’m sure of that,get all the facts before screaming abuse
where i live they would not have allowed the baby to go with know drug user, they call child services at once, (washington state)
That hospital is dumb usually they take babies away from parents here is San Jose, CA
I’m not sure how old you are but apparantly computer literate. I can’t belive that the baby is coming home into such an unsafe environment. Social services really needs to be contacted. You shouldn’t be there.
