Has Anyone Else Had Good Experiences With Lyrica Helping You Sleep?

Posted by admin on Thursday, January 21st, 2010

I have been taking it once a night for about 5 nights and I’ve slept better than I have in awhile. I don’t wake up like 3 times a night now. Has anyone else had this with Lyrica and does this side effect go away after awhile?

I love it, it has worked better for my sleep and pain than anything else I’ve ever been on. I’ve been on it for over 6 months and the sleep is still fantastic.
I was actually prescribed it to treat my Fibromyalgia and insomnia associated with it. My understanding from my doctor is that it should continue helping me with my sleep.
Hope that helps!

Hi,
I was prescibed Lyrica a year ago for pain and pain induced anxiety that gave me very bad insomnia for about three years. I have been sleeping much better this past year. Lyrica boosts GABA in the brain which binds to your gaba receptors which help you relax and get more deep sleep. It sure has helped me alot….I could’nt take valium or other benzodiazepines (which basically do the same thing in a more direct way) for other reasons. The thing you have to keep in mind is if you take Lyrica for an extended period, you can have pretty awful withdrawal symptoms…..but for me, I don’t plan on quitting it. My Doc. says I can take it (I’m 56) forever(?) since the quality of my life is so much better, (It was hell before)
Good Luck, P.

my son takes 1 in the AM and 2 at night and it seems to be helping him sleep better since it reduced his pain
