What Famous People Have Had Bad Lsd Trips And What Happened Because Of It?

Posted by admin on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

I’m writing an essay about LSD and I’m supposed to make it half good and half bad, but I can hardly find any examples of well known figures who have had bad lsd trips and the harm that came from them.
Help?

There are several celebrities who have taken LSD, however, the majority of them do not go into detail about their experiences. Most simply state they have taken it, and do not elaborate. Celebrities who do talk in detail about their LSD use generally advocate it. A good example would be Cary Grant. Albert Hoffman’s first trip (in fact, the first LSD trip ever taken), was a bad one, but this didnt stop him from continuing to take LSD dozens more times. I am sure that Tim Leary, Jerry Garcia, John Lennon, and Aldous Huxley (just to name a few famous heavy LSD users) had some bad trips in their day, but continued to take LSD regularly. For the most part, alot of good has come from LSD. James Watson and Francis Crick were on LSD the day they discovered the shape of DNA molecules. I dont think you will be able to find much information on celebrities and bad trips, but you could always go to the erowid LSD experiences vault and look at the reports categorized under “Bad Trips” (I will put the address in the sources box), however, these are just normal people submitting trip reports, not celebrities. If youre looking for information on serious misuse of LSD, I would look at Charles Manson (gave members of his cult LSD over 300 times in order to brainwash them to go start murdering people and start a race war), and the CIA’s MK-ULTRA project (I will provide addresses for info on both of these). Otherwise, LSD experiences are generally positive, and thus, positive things generally come from LSD use. I would modify your report to about a 70/30 good/bad ratio. Good luck though, I hope my answer helps.
