Whats The Difference Between My 2 Types Of Hydrocodone Pills?

Posted by admin on Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

I have recently had some pain in my lower back. I have been to the doctor many times over the last couple of months. I have been prescribed what my doctor said was the same pills, but they say different things on the actual prescription. They say
Hydrocodone/APAP 10/500
Hydrocodone/ACET 5/500
Does anyone know what the difference between these two pills are? Is one stronger than the other?

The first number, 10 or 5, states how much hydrocodone there is in each pill. The second number just means there is 500 mg of Tylenol in each of the 2 types. So the 10 is stronger than the 5. Please be careful when taking these, they do have acetaminophen in them and if you take over 8 of these pills a day you could be damaging your liver.
APAP and ACET are both shorthand versions of spelling out acetaminophen.
