neurontin has quite a few side effects and several drug interactions. you didn’t specify what your ‘reaction’ was. but if you are taking the medication for neuropathic pain, you are most likely taking another medication for this also. could cause increased sedative effect.

only side effects are drowziness or muscle weakness. main interactions are with antacids. no big deal

Gabapentin can only cause cognitive side effects as far as I know, such as memory loss. But such problems are only temporary and go away when you stop taking the drug.
A quote from Wiki: “Gabapentin’s most common side-effects in adult patients include dizziness, drowsiness, and peripheral edema (swelling of extremities)[18]; these mainly occur at higher doses, in the elderly. Also, children 3–12 years of age were observed to be susceptible to mild-to-moderate mood swings, hostility, concentration problems, and hyperactivity.”
If it caused a reaction in a neuropathology patient, it is most likely a rare case. People get reactions from aspirin and tylenol all the time.

well I used to take it with many narcotics and and gabo~ made me have serious emotional crazies~
