In Thailand Is It Illegal To Import Diazepam?
IM flying to Thailand in a few days, as I dont like flying too much IM planning on taking a small quantity of diazepam with me. I dont have a doctors certificate so would like toknow if this is legal given the strict drugs laws over there.

hi…would ‘not’ advise you to take a drug like diazepam without having the doctors cert…because if you were found with it when going through customs (they use dogs), then they would arrest you immediately.
i do know because i lived there for 14 years, so i ‘do’ know their procedures very well…infact i got arrested for having over 100 aspirins in a plastic container…so just fair warning to you.
mate drugs and thailand VERY BAD COMBINATION… Ask the thai embassy for the exact rules not here…

Yes, you can’t bring diazepam into the U.S. or any other foreign countries.
Yes, it is illegal to import diazapam into Thailand or I’m sure almost every country in the world without a doctor’s prescription.
And, yes if you are caught. I’m sure there would be undesirable consequences. Having said that, although it would technically be considered drug smuggling, a few pills would most likely not get you into any trouble. I am in no way advocating smuggling, but there is very little chance you will have problems. I have entered and exited Thailand over 80 times in the last 5 or 6 years, and on occasion have posessed a sleep aid or two, never a problem, although I have hidden them discreetly just in case. Also, I have never encountered a sniffer dog, nor do I believe a sniffer dog would be trained for a few pills such as diazapam. My best response would be to visit a doctor and get a prescription, as most doctors would prescribe diazapam, or something similar, for people who have anxieties with flying. But, on the other hand, I wouldn’t worry about a few pills.
i think as long as your name is on the box/bottle of pills it shouldn’t be a problem
Thai Doctors give out diazepam like bankers give out lollypops. If your drugs are in a perscription bottle you have nothing to worry about.
The strict drug laws earlier mentioned are only randomly enforced at the airport; e.g. I’ve neither seen any canines nor have I ever been checked. If you are really not firm with flying, better go to the local airport med and ask him/her for convenience. They surely will issue something more effective than Diazepam and you’ll stay out of trouble.
