YES! Diazepam is the generic name for Valium. Diazepam and Lorazepam (trade name: Ativan) are benzodiazepines. All “benzos” are highly addictive —especially Diazepam/Valium. Most of the drugs ending in “pam” are in the benzodiazepine family.
Diazepam (or Valium) is the most abused and widely prescribed medication, to date. If this medication has not been prescribed to you, do not take it (it’s illegal and dangerous)! If it has been prescribed to you, take ONLY as needed —-never double the dose and never take this medication just to take it.
Diazepam IS more addictive than Lorazepam. However, addictive medications are just that —ADDICTIVE —-PHYSICALLY addicting.
Consult your doctor regularly when you have been prescribed this class of medication.
As far as i know it’s ok for a couple of months but can be a problem if longer, so ask your doc as i suppose it depends on the reason you’re taking it and what else you might be taking, but I’m sure your doc knows this.
Yes. My mother was addicted to them after the hospital gave them to her in huge doses. She became incredibly addicted to them.
