How Long Does It Take Cocaine To Start Changing Your Behaviour?

Posted by admin on Saturday, January 16th, 2010

I’m a psychology student doing a fly on the wall study of drugs, if you have taken or are taking this drug how long would you roughly estimate it takes cocaine to alter behaviour. Obviously everyone is different, and variables such as age, how much is taken, purity of the cocaine and health come in to play. But is just a general idea I want, many people on cocaine are said to be egotistical and chatty as short term effects, is this the case? And how long till it effects your personality permanently? Thanks

About 3 minutes

the drug itself goes into effect in about 5 minutes if sniffed and the effects are almost immediate when injected or smoked. It’s an “upper” so yes, the euphoric effects tend to make the user more “open” and chatty and also a intensified tendency for truth when on the drug. Users tend to admit dark secrets etc. they normally would not when sober. I doubt egotistical rather than a false sense of self worth. Permantly would be dependant on a level of addiction. When coming down effects might last 3 to 5 days of being down in the dumps and irritable while the long time addicts personality would be permantly changed as an emotional craving would last indefinately and therefore the mental effects of having to accept one as an “addict” that would also come.
Hope this helps.
