Cephalexin?
I was prescribed cephalexin for sinusitis. It worked great and my sinuses feel normal again.
I have only one day left in the regimen and…
My lungs are beginning to feel sore and I have been coughing up mucus for a couple of days now.
Will the cephalexin I took prior also prevent or heal a bronchial infection?
or should I see the doctor for more medication?

Cephalexin would not cause detriment to your bronchial infection. However, a day’s worth will not help you out either. A bronchial infection is more serious than sinusitis. You are going to HAVE to see a doctor very soon.
All that is assuming that what you have IS an infection instead of something more serious. You should definitely go to a doctor as opposed to taking the risk of misdiagnosing yourself.
Since you’re going to the doctor anyway, it’s best to not take the risk of taking medication for an ailment that you are unsure of the cause.
I hope you start feeling better soon
Go back to the doc. One day of cephalexin won’t help. Also, this could be something new that is resistant to cephalexin.
The original poster didn’t say the drug had only been taken for one day, but that there was only one day left in the regimen. I’d see your doctor for either more medication, different medication, or some sort of treatment and explanation of what’s going on in your lungs. It’s not immediately obvious why this drug would work on a sinus infection but not prevent a lung infection by the same bacteria, but things may not be that simple – please do see your doctor. The full effect of antibiotics is sometimes not seen until several days after they’re stopped, but I wouldn’t assume your Keflex is going to prevent a bronchial infection that seems to just have got started while you were on the drug.
