Is Ambien Good Or Bad To Take When You Have A Racing Heart?
I have high blood pressure and have been having sort of a racing heart today. I normally take Ambien to sleep, and figure it would actually be good for calming my heart down, but I don’t want to take it if there’s any chance that it could actually make anything worse.

Fast heart rate, especially with history of high blood pressure, can be a sign of heart attack. Especially if this is a new symptom for you, it needs to be checked out. Go see your doc, urgent care center, or ER for an EKG and blood work. Don’t confuse the situation by taking Ambien now. Ambien helps you sleep, if you are having a heart attack, maybe you go to sleep and never wake up… It might be just anxiety or some other non-serious condition, but even so, Ambien is definitely not the treatment of choice.
The safest thing to do would be to call your pharmacist and ask about side effects.
